The works of this year’s award winners examine borders and move beyond borders: „The Last Sign“ by Béla Avi Beinhold brings up issues of when and why a society closes itself to the suffering of others. „Contrapasso“ by Massimiliano Corteselli tells of personal feuds, revenge, and corruption. In „No Georgian Dream“ Lea Greub searches for the dreams of young people in Georgia. In „Other Images“ Matthias Grund literally gets to the bottom of the mechanisms and systems of artificial image production. In „Synthetic Embrace“ Lia Lehmkuhl examines hidden yet powerful structures behind seemingly well-intentioned digital „friends.” In „The Psyche, the Body, and the Environment Are Inseparably Interlinked and Influence Each Other“, Denisa Poteca focuses on her own bipolar disorder. Maya Vieth creates a docufictional space full of poetry in „As We Sleep, Wolves Are Out Prowling“.
